Goose Round-up

It is time for the annual Goose Round-up at Woodland Waters, Ancaster. This involves paddling and 'herding' the geese onto a beach area so that the local RSPB can catch them and put identity rings on their legs before they fledge and leave the lake to migrate.

Any 1-3* paddlers are welcome. The date/time is Thursday 25 June, on the water ready to paddle by 19:00. It should only take about 30 minutes but it is an excuse to visit another lake and take part in an interesting activity.

Please post a reply or Email me if you are interested.

WooHoo! 125 geese were successfully ringed (numbered) with only 7 paddlers, thanks to NCC, Dave, Dave, Steve, Abby for your help.

I don't know if its just me, but it seemed to go a lot smoother with just 7 kayaks rather than the 15+ in previous years.

See you next year (Delane).
