About the Club

Newark Canoe Club is a very active club that tries to meet the paddlesport needs of all ages in the Newark and Lincoln areas. We are a very family orientated club with a fun-packed events list for both paddlers and non-paddlers.

During the summer months Newark Canoe Club meet on a Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm and Thursdays at 18:30 at Thurlby Lake, which is about halfway between Newark and Lincoln on the A46. This is a superb venue with clubhouse, ample car parking, a large landing stage and a ramp for easy access to the water.

During the winter we run pool sessions. For more details contact a member of the committee.

Newark Canoe Club covers a wide range of interests by providing appropriate trips for all abilities within the club. We often run river and canal trips, Open Canoe trips, white-water and sea trips.

A Level 2 coach-training course was held at Thurlby Lake over the weekend of 21st/22nd July 2007. Congratulations to those who completed their course and became Level 2 trained. There are now gangs of coaches roaming the lake looking for victims on whom they can practise their newfound skills. You have been warned.

This significant increase in our qualified coaching base means that we can now look forward to further expansion and diversification of club activities.
